Stronger Than My Struggles, a mission-based organization with a focus on mental health and wellness, is proud to salute those called to bring healing to their communities through the inaugural STMS Community Commitment Awards.

Baltimore, MD – Stronger Than My Struggles, a non-profit committed to mental and emotional health led by Coach Mel & Team, has proudly announced the inaugural STMS Community Commitment Awards and the contest’s top six applicants. An effort to recognize local leaders dedicated to their community, the inaugural Community Commitment Award will name its final three awardees live on Facebook September 27 – 30, 2021, at 12 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

The STMS Community Commitment Award is given to individuals enrolled or enrolling in programs that will provide them with the skills necessary to better increase their mental or physical health and the wellness of members of their community. The inaugural award will empower awardees with $5,000 in scholarship funds for community advancement projects they design to touch and improve the mental and emotional health of their communities. The three awardees will receive awards of $2,500, $1,500, and $1,000, respectively.

“We are proud to sponsor the inaugural STMS Community Commitment Awards,” remarked Coach Melony Hill, Founder of Stronger Than My Struggles. “As a mission-based organization focused on mental health and wellness, we recognized the importance of using our platform as a foundation of support for people from all walks of life. It is an honor to support and impact our community in this way,” she added.

Awardees are being selected through a competitive application and vetting process. The process includes a review of two letters of reference, one personal and one from an organization or individual testifying to the candidate’s community, volunteerism, or advocacy work, in addition to an evaluation of the candidate’s community support history, personal statement, submission form, and education program teaching skills in mental or physical health and wellness.
