Stock Update: The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) – Leonardo Finmeccanica to overhaul Boeing 787 supply chain

[Reuters] – Italian defence group Leonardo Finmeccanica said on Wednesday it intended to press ahead with overhauling the supply chain that produces parts for the Boeing 787 programme. Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore said on Wednesday Boeing had written a letter to Leonardo Finmeccanica complaining of the quality of its production and delays in delivery. In a note emailed to Reuters, Leonardo Finmeccanica acknowledged there had been problems in the past. Read more on this. The Boeing Company (BA) , valued at $80.33B, opened this morning at $127.25. Looking at the equity, the company’s one day range is $123.96 to $127.31 with a trailing 52-week range being $102.10 to $150.59. Boeing (BA) shares are currently priced at 14.96x this year’s forecasted earnings, which makes them relatively inexpensive compared to the industry’s 22.10x earnings multiple for the same period. In a review of the consensus earnings estimate this quarter, 15 sell-side analysts are looking at $2.16 per share, which would be $0.54 better than the year-ago quarter and a $0.03 sequential increase. The full-year EPS estimate is $8.49, which would be a $0.77 better than last year. The quarterly earnings estimate is predicated on a consensus revenue forecast of $23.24 Billion. If reported, that would be a 5.30% decrease over the year-ago quarter. In terms of ratings, Morgan Stanley Initiated BA at Overweight (Jun 23, 2016). Previously, BofA/Merrill downgraded BA from Neutral to Underperform.
