Citi® Launches New GTS Mobile Functionality Including Alerts for Global Commercial Card Clients and CitiDirect Be Solution Enhancements for Treasury Service Clients

Citi today announced a significant expansion of its GTS Mobile functionality, with new differentiated offerings for its Commercial Cards and Treasury Services clients.

Citi Commercial Cards

Citi Commercial Cards, responding to growing demand from clients around the world, announced the availability of mobile alerts for cardholders and Program Administrators (PAs) in Colombia, India, Singapore and now, the United States. Citi’s corporate cardholders can manage their expenses and keep track of their corporate spend regardless of day, time or their location via their mobile devices.

The expansion of Citi’s global mobile messaging now offers Citi’s US corporate cardholders the ability to receive four Short Message Service (SMS) alerts indicating that:

  • Statement is ready to be viewed
  • Payment is due
  • Payment is past-due
  • Payment has been received

Cardholders at enabled Citi clients simply log on to Citi’s globally available on-line Card Management Tool, CitiManager, to select and register for the SMS alerts they wish to receive. These notifications help remind cardholders when their statement is ready so that they can begin the expense report process, or when a payment is due to help avoid any potential late fees.

“Citi’s Mobile Alerts now provide the United States Agency of International Development’s government cardholders with the ability to receive updates and reminders about their card activity through their smart phones. We are excited to have this convenient functionality as part of our program and have had nothing but positive feedback for Citi’s Mobile Alerts,” said Matt Talbert, Program Coordinator for USAID’s Travel Card Program.

Recognizing cardholders’ needs for instant access to additional account information when on the go, Citi will soon pilot four additional alerts with US Cardholders. Available via email or SMS, cardholders will be able to opt-in for notifications when they are within a pre-defined percentage of their remaining credit limit, as well as when a processed transaction exceeds a pre-designated threshold. Using their registered text-enabled mobile device, subscribed cardholders will also be able to send instant requests to Citi using their “On-Demand” alert functionality. The two “On-Demand”, or real-time, alerts will allow Citi Corporate Cardholders to proactively check their account balance or their recently processed transactions by typing in a short command to Citi at “GOCITI”.

Paul Horn, Global Director, Citi Commercial Cards, said, “We are committed to providing our Commercial Cardholders and Program Administrators the same convenient and easy to use alert capability that they have become accustomed to in their personal lives. We know our customers are constantly on the go and we want to help service them no matter where they are – in the office, at the airport, or anywhere in between.”

With its continued focus on providing globally consistent and relevant solutions and services, Citi Commercial Cards is looking to expand this functionality into additional markets throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
