Citi Launches Thought Leadership Product Suite

Citi today announced it has launched a new, firm-wide series entitled Citi Global Perspectives & Solutions (GPS.) This thought-leadership product suite is designed to deliver insights and viewpoints on compelling issues and structural thematic trends in the global economy. The series was developed as a means to deliver the depth of strategic thought that exists across Citi to a wide audience including institutional investors, corporate, public sector and individuals. Citi GPS will provide clients with the basis of informed dialogue on key topics of global relevance.

Authors writing under the Citi GPS brand will be drawn from across the entire organization. In addition to Citi authors, reports will also feature contributions from external thought leaders and industry experts. Citi GPS reports will include substantial, in-depth think pieces, individual position papers and short notes on topics of immediate client interest.

In the series’ initial report entitled “Trade Transformed: The Emerging New Corridors of Trade Power”, Citi Chief Economist Willem Buiter embarks on an in-depth study of world trade and the “third wave of globalization,” focusing on the dramatic potential transformation of trading patterns over the next four decades and the rapid evolution of new trading hubs and corridors given the expected continued rise of emerging markets.

“The Citi GPS series was created to fill a void in the market. Our clients were eager for more thematic, thought-provoking analysis beyond the realms of traditional research,” said Hamid Biglari, Citicorp Vice Chairman and Head of Emerging Markets and Content. “Our ability to leverage Citi’s thought leadership, global footprint and industry expertise across the whole of the organization for clients differentiates this series of research.”

Attached is a summary of the full 80-page report. The full report is available upon request.
