Citi Experts to Gather at the Latin America Financial Institutions Forum 2011

In an effort to share best practices, analyze and discuss innovation in transaction services affecting financial institutions in Latin America, and provide a networking opportunity, Citi’s Global Transaction Services is hosting the “Latin America Financial Institutions Forum” from the 8th to the 10th of June, at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami, Florida.

During the event, Citi’s Global and Regional experts will discuss with participants the latest compliance requirements that should be considered by banks across the region, and the most relevant highlights of Basel III and its impact on the financial systems in Latin America.

“As Latin America’s banking industry matures, it is pivotal to create forums for discussion and analysis on the impact of landmark regulatory trends could have in Latin America,” said Francisco Aristeguieta, Latin America & Mexico Region Head.

Additional topics of discussion during this event include Asia-Latin America economic and trade relations and the assessment on the Impact of North Africa and Middle East tensions on Latin America. These topics are very relevant as Chinese and other Asian companies are now playing a substantial role in cross-border trade with Latin American markets and North Africa and the Middle East have recently undergone seismic shifts in their social, political and economic dynamics.

“With the Latin America Financial Institutions Forum we are hoping to contribute with the region’s financial industry by sharing our experience and expertise and creating a most needed opportunity for discussion,” said Gordon Joost, Bank Services Group Region Head for Latin America.

This by-invitation-only program will be followed by a similar event directed to the different industries' most influential decision makers from across the Latin America region, also happening in Miami during the following week.
