With their combined breadth of knowledge and passion for client advocacy, the newest additions (Kayla Patterson and Aleah Leggett) strengthen Foxtrot’s commitment to delivering exceptional legal services.

Florence, Alabama, December 9, 2024 — Foxtrot Family Law, a leading Alabama family law firm, is pleased to announce that attorneys Kayla Patterson and Aleah Leggett have joined their legal team as lead counsel and junior associate, respectively. Kayla will be serving at the Florence office location while Aleah will be serving at the Huntsville office!

Patterson, a dedicated and passionate family law attorney with over a decade of experience serving clients in the Shoals area of Alabama, started her career as a paralegal and is now excelling as an attorney. Her commitment to providing compassionate and comprehensive legal support to individuals and families navigating the complexities of family law – including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property division – runs deep, and her dedication to clients is unwavering.

A graduate of the Birmingham School of Law, Kayla has built a stellar reputation for her strong advocacy skills and meticulous attention to detail. She is known for her ability to negotiate favorable agreements and her tenacity in the courtroom when litigation is necessary. Her legal acumen and strategic thinking make her a formidable advocate for her clients, and her personalized approach ensures that each of their needs and goals are prioritized throughout the legal process.

Beyond her legal practice, Kayla is deeply involved in her community. She volunteers with the Junior League of the Shoals and actively participates in the Lauderdale County Bar Association. Her commitment to staying current with the latest developments in family law ensures that her clients receive informed and effective representation. When not practicing law, she enjoys spending quality time with her two daughters.

Leggett, a proud native of Dothan, Alabama, is best characterized by her faith, family, and commitment to her community. A graduate of the University of Alabama, where she achieved summa cum laude honors, she chose to remain at the Capstone for the next chapter – law school. Here, she excelled in trial advocacy, earning the best advocate award at both the regional and national levels in the Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Competition.

She was also recognized with the Pro Bono Excellence Award, an honor given to the top three students who provided the most free legal services to clients. This achievement was made possible through her work with the Criminal Defense Clinic, where she spent a year advocating for indigent clients and helping one achieve compassionate release from federal prison. Says Legget, “I am passionate about helping others find their voice and dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those I serve.”

Both attorneys will be empowering clients to confidently navigate family law matters such as divorce, child custody, DHR defense, stepparent adoption, child support, and more. A spokesperson for Foxtrot Family Law states, “Both Kayla and Aleah are the ideal additions to our team, because they understand that it isn’t all about what we do for our clients – but what we help them do for themselves that truly matters.”
