Seasoned Executive, Fei Liu, Joins Range Energy as President to Enable Manufacturing at Scale

Veteran global operations leader to accelerate production, deployment, and commercialization of trailer electrification platform

Range Energy, a trailer electrification company advancing scalable, high-impact freight solutions, today announced that Fei Liu has joined the company as both President and a member of its Board of Directors. Liu is a seasoned global technology and operations executive known for leading complex, cross-border businesses. His appointment is effective today.

As President of Range Energy, Liu brings deep expertise in scaling cost-effective hardware businesses, global manufacturing, and operational excellence. His leadership will enable Range to industrialize its technology, accelerate deployments, and build the operational foundation required for long-term growth.

Prior to joining Range, Liu served as President of Flex Asia and the IDE8 business unit in Shanghai, where he built and scaled an organization focused on cost-effective, efficient execution of innovation and product development. A key highlight was his role as President of Mass Market Consumer Products at Motorola Mobility, which contributed significantly to the $12.5 billion acquisition by Google in 2011.

Liu joins Range as the company moves from fleet validation to broader commercial adoption. Range is reshaping the freight industry by electrifying trailers, rather than replacing tractors, to deliver immediate fuel savings, eliminate diesel use for refrigerated units, and modernize freight operations without changing driver workflows or requiring new charging infrastructure. In this next phase, Liu will play a central role in ensuring Range can deliver these benefits reliably and at scale.

Beyond vehicle efficiency, Liu’s leadership will help Range unlock a broader transformation in how energy is used across freight operations. By electrifying trailers, assets often sit idle for extended periods, Range is effectively deploying a distributed, mobile power grid. As Range scales, this capability opens the door to vehicle-to-grid applications that connect freight transportation and power infrastructure, creating new economic value for fleets and facilities.

“I’m excited to join Range at a pivotal moment for the company and the industry. Range’s technology has the potential to drastically improve efficiency and sustainability in freight, and I look forward to applying my experience to scaling manufacturing and operations as the company enters its next phase of growth,” said Fei Liu.

“Bringing Fei on as our President marks a critical step in Range’s evolution. He has a remarkable track record of commercializing complex hardware systems and building world class operations across international markets,” said Ali Javidan, CEO and founder of Range. “As we focus on quality, performance, and operational excellence, Fei’s deep expertise and disciplined execution will help industrialize our product, accelerate deployments, and take Range to the next level. I’m energized to have him alongside me as we continue to build this company.”

Earlier in his career, Liu served as CEO of the TCL–Alcatel Mobile Phones joint venture, successfully leading a major organizational turnaround. He also held the role of Senior Vice President of Business and Product Strategy at TCL Mobile, helping the company become a leading domestic mobile phone brand in China. Fei began his career at Texas Instruments in technical marketing and field application roles.
