LOUIS, MO / ACCESS Newswire / March 4, 2026 / Nearly 90 credit union professionals and industry partners gathered at The Lodge Des Peres for the St. Louis Chapter of Credit Unions' annual Leadership Breakfast, an event designed to foster collaboration and provide timely insights for credit union leaders. Representatives from 15 credit unions across the St. Louis metropolitan area, along with vendors and partners, participated in this year's program.

Kathleen Navin, Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, served as the keynote speaker, offering an engaging and informative overview of the current economic landscape and its implications for credit unions and their members. Navin addressed several timely topics, including:

National economic trends influencing households, communities, and local businesses

Consumer spending expectations for 2026

Impacts of the recent government shutdown

Ongoing pressures in the housing market, including elevated prices and limited inventory

Labor market shifts pointing toward a stabilizing "low hiring-low firing" environment

Her analysis provided valuable context for Credit Union Leaders as they navigate evolving economic conditions and plan for the year ahead.

The Chapter also recognized and thanked Millennium Corporate Credit Union for generously sponsoring the event and networking breakfast, helping make the annual gathering possible.

About the STL Chapter of Credit Unions

Since its humble beginnings in 1953, The St. Louis Chapter of Credit Unions exists to promote cooperation among credit unions through educational opportunities, advocacy efforts, and engaging events. We seek to demonstrate the "credit union difference" throughout the region as we live out the philosophy of people helping people.

We believe that everyone should have access to affordable banking solutions that strengthen their families and our communities. Credit unions are the solution - our ability to cooperate and collaborate is our strength.
