LONDON, UK - Entrepreneur, author and film producer Marco Robinson has announced the development of a Netflix-style documentary series chronicling the global rise of the Start Over Movement, a storytelling and leadership initiative that has helped everyday people turn personal loss into public purpose, bestselling books, and paid speaking careers.
The documentary, currently in development for distribution on Prime Video with aspirations for broader global platforms including Netflix, will follow Robinson and selected participants across multiple countries as they share their stories of adversity, courage and transformation — documenting their journeys from private struggle to public leadership.
The series is inspired by the international success of Robinson’s collaborative book project, “Start Over: Turn Any Loss Into a Sensational Comeback,” which has produced eight consecutive #1 bestselling volumes within its first year. Each volume features 14 co-authors from diverse backgrounds, including survivors of domestic abuse, business collapse, health crises, addiction, indigenous healing journeys and financial loss.
From Personal Loss to Global Platform
The Start Over Movement was founded on a simple but radical premise: people heal faster — and lead better — when they tell the truth about who they were before they became who they are.
Over the past year, the movement has evolved into a global platform that helps coaches, consultants, founders and creatives transform lived experience into authority, income and impact. Co-authors have gone on to speak on international stages, receive royalties from book sales, and onboard high-ticket clients through the credibility and visibility generated by the series.
The upcoming documentary will capture this transformation in real time — following participants as they prepare to share their stories on stage, publish their chapters, navigate vulnerability, and rebuild their identities in public.
“This isn’t reality TV — it’s reality leadership,” Robinson said. “We’re documenting what happens when people stop hiding their story and start using it to create meaning, income and impact. Nobody is inspired by perfect lives. People are inspired by honest comebacks.”
A Global Tour Becomes a Global Story
The documentary will also track Robinson’s international speaking tour promoting the Start Over books and movement, where co-authors take the stage to share their journeys with live audiences. The tour has become a catalyst for deeper personal transformation among participants and a growing community of readers seeking real-world examples of resilience and reinvention.
Each episode will focus on a small group of individuals navigating the process of confronting their past, reshaping their narrative, and stepping into public leadership — with the intention of later developing selected stories into standalone feature films.
The model draws inspiration from storytelling-led production models such as Reese Witherspoon’s book-to-screen pipeline, which turns personal narratives into mainstream film and television projects. Robinson’s vision is to create a similar ecosystem for stories of loss, courage and comeback — moving from book to stage to screen.
Built by a Proven Media and Business Track Record
Robinson brings decades of experience across business, publishing and film production to the project. He is the creator and star of the award-winning Channel 4 television series “Get a House for Free,” where he made global headlines as the first person to give mortgage-free homes to homeless families on prime-time television.
In film, Robinson was an early investor and producer on the action thriller Legacy of Lies, contributing to its initial financing and supporting its marketing and international exposure. The film later reached the Top #2 position on Netflix in the United States — underscoring Robinson’s ability to build distribution momentum for independent projects in highly competitive media markets.
“I understand how to build visibility for stories that matter,” Robinson said. “Independent film doesn’t work unless you know how to create demand, attention and emotional resonance. This documentary isn’t just content — it’s a platform for human transformation at scale.”
Turning Story into Infrastructure
The documentary is part of a broader expansion of the Start Over Movement into community-led business chapters launching internationally in 2026. These chapters are designed to support entrepreneurs and changemakers with mentorship, funding pathways, publishing opportunities, and media visibility — anchored in what Robinson calls the “story-driven economy,” where identity, narrative and lived experience now outperform traditional marketing.
Production planning for the documentary series is currently underway, with filming expected to begin during upcoming international Start Over live events.
