Sterling Financial Corporation (“Sterling”) announced that it has completed its acquisition of
FirstBank NW Corp., the parent company of FirstBank Northwest, headquartered in Clarkston,
Washington. A copy of the press release issued by Sterling on December 1, 2006 announcing the
completion of the acquisition is included as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.
