AU Optronics Corp. Reports May 2009 Consolidated Revenue

Hsinchu, Taiwan, June 8, 2009 –

AU Optronics Corp. ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) today announced its preliminary consolidated and unconsolidated May 2009 revenue of NT$27,728 million and NT$27,421 million, up 13.8% and 13.9% respectively from April 2009. In terms of Y-o-Y comparison, they were down by 37.5% and 37.6% respectively.
 
Large-sized panel(a) shipments for May 2009, with applications on desktop monitor, notebook PC, LCD TV and other applications, exceeded 7.77 million units, representing a 13.3% M-o-M increase. As to small- and -medium-sized panels, the shipments were close to 19.29 million units, a 13.9% sequential decrease.
