AU Optronics Corp. July 2007 Consolidated Revenues Set Record High at NT$40.1 Billion

Hsinchu, Taiwan, August 7, 2007 –

AU Optronics Corp. ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) today announced another record high for July 2007 revenue with preliminary consolidated revenue of NT$40,126 million and unconsolidated revenue of NT$40,099 million.  Both broke the NT$40 billion mark for the first time and rose 3% and 3.1% respectively from the previous month.  On a year-over-year comparison, consolidated and unconsolidated July 2007 revenues increased significantly by 99.5% and 99.4% correspondingly.

Shipments of large-sized panels(a) used in desktop monitor, notebook PC, LCD TV and other applications for July also set a new record of 6.85 million units, a slight 0.1% increase from June 2007. Shipments of small-and-medium-sized panels presented a 2.5 % sequential decline to 11.95 million units, due to product mix adjustment shift to medium-sized(b) panels.

AU Optronics Corp.
