2005 Sales Set Record High at
NT$24,000million

AU Optronics Corp. ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) today announced another historical record high on monthly revenues and shipments. AUOs preliminary consolidated October 2005 monthly revenues broke a record high to post NT$24,000 million, while unconsolidated net sales totaled NT$23,991 million.
Both preliminary consolidated and unconsolidated revenues for the month of October 2005 increased by 9.4% sequentially. On a year-over-year basis, October 2005 consolidated revenues increased by 87.1%, while unconsolidated net sales rose by 87.9% .
Driven primarily by shipments of large-sized panels(a) for applications such as desktop monitor, notebook PC, LCD TV and other applications, the new record reached a high of 3.10 million, a 11.3% increase from September 2005. Shipments of small- and medium-sized panels declined to total 6.3 million, a 14.6 % sequential decrease due to seasonal demand.
For the ten months ended October 31, 2005, unaudited consolidated and unconsolidated revenue totaled NT$168,589 million and NT$168,501 million respectively, representing 19.2% and 21.8% Y-o-Y growth.
