This Report of Foreign Private Issuer on Form 6-K is deemed filed for all purposes under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended, including by reference in the Registration Statement on Form F-3 (Registration No. 33-99550) and the Registration Statement on Form F-3 (Registration No. 333-9180).


On October 25, 2007, the board of directors of Korea Electric Power Corporation (“KEPCO”) passed a resolution to inject capital into KEPCO Australia Pty. Ltd. (“KEPCO Australia”) in the amount of KRW 7,089,600,000 by acquiring 20 million shares, or 100%, of KEPCO Australia Pty. Ltd., a wholly-established subsidiary of KEPCO which was established in December 2005. Such capital injection is expected to be made prior to December 31, 2007. KEPCO, through KEPCO Australia, intends to participate in a coal exploration project with Cockatoo Coal Ltd., a coal exploration and mining company located in Australia. Incorporation by reference with regard to this project is made to KEPCO’s Form 6-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on October 11, 2007, which is available at www.sec.gov.
