Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition.

On March 1, 2007, The First American Corporation issued a press release announcing its financial results for the quarter and fiscal year ended December 31, 2006 and released on its website (at www.firstam.com/investor) a slide presentation for its previously announced fourth quarter and full year earnings conference call. The full text of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
