Base Salaries
On February 23, 2006, the Bonus, Salary and Stock Option Committee of the Board of Directors (the Committee) of NewMarket Corporation (the Company) approved for the Companys named executive officers set forth below, the following 2006 base salaries:

Bonuses

On February 23, 2006, the Company issued a press release reporting that the Companys Board of Directors had declared a quarterly dividend of 12.5 cents per share of the Companys common stock, payable on April 3, 2006 to the Companys shareholders of record as of March 16, 2006. The press release issued by the Company on February 23, 2006 is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
