        On May 14, 2004, Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. issued a news release announcing that it had filed an amended Form 10-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission to restate financial information for 2003 and 2002. Certain balance sheet accounts previously reported on its April 28, 2004 earnings release have been updated. A copy of the news release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
